Singer's World Sports Car (shown here testing at Daytona) was outlawed before it could race. So the Joest team "borrowed" it and won LeMans twice! |

So what has Herr Singer been up to? In typical Porsche
fashion, they're
not saying. Which can only mean it must be something really special.
Singer
will only say the "race department has been really busy." So that lets
us speculate.
Could it be the Norbert Singer Special Edition of Porsche's Cayenne? Take 2 parts SUV, add 3 parts Moby Dick, bend some rules, add Singer Speed liberally... Hey it worked for Ford, and how many races has Eddie Baur won? |

The Porsche Carrera GT - wow. What does it have to do with Herr Singer? From its first description - the wonderully-designed carbon fiber undertray with aerodynamic chanelling, sophisticated airflow management, weight balance, efficiency of space - and the general awe that is generates, shout "Singer's Been Here!" Fantastic. And thanks to Tony Hatter (who, I believe, was significant in
the design
of the Carrera GT) at Porsche AG, for the photo on the right - a
Carrera
GT powersliding at Goodwood, England, 2003. And to Christophorous
magazine. |
